Attaché Software believes that the responsible use of personal information collected on our websites is critical to our business objectives and reputation. As part of our commitment to maintaining your privacy, we have adopted this Online Privacy Policy. The policy guides how we collect, store and use information in regard to the following websites which are maintained by Attaché Software:

Attaché Software does not collect any personal information about you without your knowledge and consent. Unless you specifically tell us, Attaché Software will never know who you are.

The type of information we receive from you on our websites depends on what you do when visiting our sites. If you visit our site to read information, such as product information or news stories, the information we collect is statistical only and not personally identifiable. We use information about the number of visitors and their use of our sites in aggregate form to make our sites more useful and relevant to visitors.

We use personal information, which you have provided, to respond to your requests and to provide you with information about our products and services. For example, if you send us a request for information about a product, Attaché Software uses your email address (and any other information you provide) to respond to your request.

Site visit data

When you visit an unrestricted Attaché Software website, a record of your visit is made. This information cannot be used to personally identify you; it is used to provide aggregate information of a statistical nature which we use to improve our sites. No attempt is ever made to use this information to identify you.

The information which is automatically recorded is:

• the visitor's server address
• the visitor's operating system (for example, Windows, Mac)
• the type of browser used
• the visitor's top level domain name (for example, .com, .gov, .au, .uk, etc)
• the date and time of the visit to the site
• the pages accessed and the documents downloaded
• the site from which the visitor found the link to our site (website, search engine etc)
• the external links from this site that are used.

 

Use of cookies

What are cookies?
Cookies are pieces of information that a website transfers to an individual's hard drive for record-keeping purposes. The use of cookies is an industry standard - most major websites use them. Attaché Software does not use cookie technology to collect personally identifying information on users of unrestricted Attaché Software sites.

Restricted areas

Some of our websites are restricted or have areas that are accessible only by entering a user identifier and/or password. This is because the information is:

protected so that only you can access it, such as the Attaché Alex secure site where you can track your Alex document deliveries, and/or

 

available only to people who fulfil certain criteria, such as being a current member of the Customer Benefits Plan in order to access the Member Services website.

 

As with all our websites, Attaché Software does not collect information that can personally identify you as having visited a restricted site unless, during your visit, you download software files or documents. If you download software files or documents, the Attaché serial number that you used to enter the restricted site (if applicable) will be recorded together with the name of the software file(s) or document(s) that you downloaded and the date. Recording this information protects Attaché from fraud or theft by unauthorised visitors and allows us, if necessary, to contact members about the software files they have downloaded (for example, if there is an important correction or change to a software file they have downloaded).

 

Online forms and purchasing

In order to use some facilities on our websites, you may be asked to complete a form that includes personal information (such as your name, email address, business name, etc).

When you provide us with personal information (for example if you complete and submit an online product enquiry form or purchase online a product or service from us), this information will be collected lawfully and fairly and with your knowledge and consent, and will be used solely for the purpose for which it was collected.

When you submit an order for Attaché Software products or services, we may request information such as credit card number and expiration date.

In order to provide the most appropriate response to your request, Attaché Software may pass your information to a registered Attaché consultant who will then respond to you. Apart from this we do not sell, share, rent or otherwise distribute your information to third parties.

If you provide us with an email address, Attaché Software or a registered Attaché consultant may contact you at that email address in order to provide you with information which may be of interest about products and services, special offers, updates, support issues or other relevant news.

Security of personal information

Attaché Software keeps membership and mailing list subscriber details and web server logs on controlled facilities that are secured against unauthorised access.

Attaché Software's websites often contain links to other websites. Please be aware that Attaché Software has no control over other websites and we encourage you to read the Privacy Policys of every website that you visit.

Correcting, updating or deleting personal information

If at any time you want to know what information we hold about you, or you want to correct or update your personal information or be removed from our database or mailing list, please email us at info@attache.co.nz or contact us at the address or phone number stated below.

Changes to the privacy policy

This policy may be updated from time to time, but any changes will not reduce the privacy protection set out in the policy and will not affect information previously collected, unless required by law or other circumstances beyond Attaché Software's control.
